Tuchfabrik Mehler was founded in 1644 and is now managed by Paulus and Ludwig Mehler in the 11th generation.
This makes Tuchfabrik Mehler the oldest cloth manufacturer in Germany and also the 29th oldest industrial company in Germany.
The company location in Tirschenreuth has a long cloth-making tradition and even Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was impressed during his visit in 1786 and was quoted as saying: “The cloth-making town is beautifully situated.”

Spinnerei Forst
Spinnerei Forst GmbH was founded and rebuilt in 1994.
The takeover of the Forst spinning mill by the Mehler family was accompanied by an overhaul of the entire machinery, so that yarns and twisted yarns of the highest quality continue to be produced.
The company’s great success and growth are also due to the 42 employees who now work at the site in the Lusatian region.
When manufacturing our products, we attach particular importance to the selection of fibers.
We only use fibers of the highest quality.
Our yarns and twisted yarns are mainly made from animal fibers such as virgin wool, merino wool, lambswool, angora, alpaca, cashmere and camel hair, but also polyamide in blends.
